had an interesting experience selling weights initially, but the manager and owner stepped in asap and apologized, and fixed everything for me, even after closing hours they were communicating with me to help solve issues, very amazing business and people!

We hate to be those people that come in so close to closing but we made it less than half an hour before closing to get our skates sharpened and Connor was so nice and didn’t make us feel like we were an inconvenience at all. He was very knowledgeable and so helpful. This was our third time there and everyone is always very friendly and welcoming!

I had a very disappointing experience with Play It Again Sports in Newport News. I paid over $100 to have my glove re-laced and brought in my own specific lace color with clear instructions. They ignored those instructions, didn’t use the color I provided, and never called to discuss any changes. I expected them to get creative with the color scheme — not completely change it. Even more frustrating, the glove was finished just two days after I dropped it off, but no one contacted me. Instead, I discovered it had been posted on their Instagram without my knowledge. When I called five days later, they said it had already been completed, yet I didn’t get it back until three days after that — eight days total for a job completed in two. I even offered to drive to the Chesapeake store to pick it up and was reassured by the manager it would be ready the next day. I was told twice that the owner would personally drop the glove off, once on Wednesday and again on Thursday, but he never showed either time. I called both days to confirm, each time being told he would be there, but he wasn’t. I tried to remain patient and respectful through the process, but it was confusing and frustrating

Sadly I went into play it again Sports and I was totally ignored! It was disappointing. I walked in the store they looked at me and three employees continued their personal conversation. Few minutes a lady and her son walked in...the employees spoke and asked if they could assist. Well Dang ..few minutes later..another women came in and the same happen...I wandered around store and found the softball bats. But had to go and find one of them to ask a question ..I'm hoping it was because I was a man and not a black man!!!! But I did find it odd. I'm a Vet and hope it was because I was a man but they still should acknowledge customers when they enter your place of business . Thanks

I expected a little more understanding from a small business. Im disappointed they wouldnt sharpen my skates 1 minute before closing. It is there right. Dont expect as assistance 1 minute before closing.
